Budapest Highlights

Budapest stole our hearts (and our stomachs); our only regret is that we didn’t have more time! Make the most of your trip with our highlights.

EAT

Antré Etterem - Traditional Hungarian food in a modern setting close to Gozu Court.
Gozsdu Court - Complex of bars and restaurants, lots of options and very popular on the weekends!
Kiosk - Near the water, this cool restaurant with high ceilings and a tree growing behind the bar is a great spot for a turned up brunch or nice dinner. It used to be a school and has some cool features from its past life. They had a DJ for weekend brunch.

Karavan - a street food park with many options, including drinks, burgers and more traditional food like Lángos (traditional Hungarian fry bread).

TwentySix - restaurant with an atrium-like covered courtyard with live plants and trees all around. The food was just as good as the setting! We recommend a reservation if you’re going on a weekend.
Beerstro 14 - Steaks and craft beers! Upscale setting with cute decor and good food menu, though limited beer options for being called Beerstro.

Costes - If you can treat yourself, this Michelin-starred restaurant deserves every accolade.

DRINK

Paris, Texas bar - Lowkey bar with pool tables near the Great Market Hall, catch a game or play one with one of their massive custom cocktails or a beer.
Hotsy Totsy- Bomb-shelter-esque narrow brick walled bar with inventive cocktails in a criminal case file-themed menu.
Púder Bárszinház - Funky little cafe with drinks and food, with that collage/ruin-bar aesthetic we love.

Csendes Letterem - Cool cafe bar crowded with tiny tables and the walls covered in all kinds of memorabilia and any blank space tagged.

EXPERIENCE

Szimpla Kert - The best ruin bar in Budapest; pumping music, lights and disco balls, wild colorful decor, delicious cocktails in giant glasses, multiple DJs and dance floors, and you can even order hookah at the bar.

Szechenyi Baths - Spend the day enjoying 17 pools total and 11 saunas, fed by natural hot springs so the water is nice and warm. Beautiful historic building, you can’t skip this.

Queen of Hearts  Tattoo - Feeling rebellious? We had a great experience getting Marcus’s tattoo here and want to give them a shout for being so great. Skip the tattoo bar and get some real artwork here. (Yes there is a tattoo bar in Budapest…)

Great Market Hall - This is the spot to get your souvenirs, there are a few dining options but mostly meat, cheese, and fish.
